EK Lawyers & Associates

The People Behind Your Legal Defence

EK Lawyers & Associates was founded on the belief that every person, regardless of background, deserves access to skilled, compassionate, and professional legal representation. Learn who we are, what we stand for, and why thousands of clients across Greater Sydney trust us with what matters most.

Our Story

A Firm Built on Purpose, Not Prestige

EK Lawyers & Associates was established in 2019 by Principal Solicitor Ernest Boakye Kakari, not as a corporate enterprise, but as a commitment. A commitment to ensuring that people facing criminal charges, immigration uncertainty, traffic matters, or difficult family situations could access high-quality professional legal services without feeling lost in a system that can seem impenetrable.

“The law is only as powerful as the advocate standing beside you. Our job is to be that advocate—relentlessly.”

Operating across Sydney, Liverpool, Parramatta, Bankstown, Blacktown, Campbelltown, and Penrith, EK Lawyers bridges the gap between complex legal processes and the real people navigating them. We bring over a decade of hands-on experience, specialist qualifications, and genuine courtroom presence to every matter we take on.

Our clients are not case numbers. They are people with families, livelihoods, and futures, and every decision we make is guided by the impact it will have on their lives.

Credentials That Go the Distance

Ernest Boakye Kakari is the founder and Principal Solicitor of EK Lawyers & Associates. His legal career is defined by a rare combination of academic excellence, diverse courtroom experience, and a deep commitment to serving the community, including some of its most vulnerable members.

Ernest graduated from Western Sydney University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Accounting, before completing his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law in 2013. In 2014, he was formally admitted as a Lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW, qualifying to practise as both Barrister and Solicitor.

“Ernest’s early career encompassed Criminal & Traffic Law, Family Law, and Immigration — the broad, practice-defining foundation that shapes how EK Lawyers approaches every client’s matter today.”

His early career with Pinnacle Lawyers immersed him in the full breadth of legal practice. He also served as a Criminal Defence Lawyer with the Aboriginal Legal Service (ALS), delivering frontline legal support to Indigenous Australians; a role that sharpened his courtroom skills and reinforced his lifelong passion for access to justice.

In 2015, Ernest expanded his expertise by graduating from Victoria University with a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice, equipping him with the specialist knowledge required to guide clients through Australia’s complex visa and immigration framework, including reviews before the Administrative Review Tribunal and judicial reviews in the Federal Court.

He founded EK Lawyers & Associates in 2019, establishing a firm built on his experience, his credentials, and his unwavering advocacy for ordinary Australians across Greater Sydney. Ernest is a member of the Law Society of NSW and serves as a Panel Lawyer on summary crime at Legal Aid NSW, a recognition of his skill and the trust placed in him by the legal system itself.

Ernest has also been an active member of the Australian Defence Force (Army) since 2008, serving as a Finance/Combat Support Clerk; a commitment that speaks directly to the discipline, integrity, and service-above-self ethos he brings to EK Lawyers every single day.

What We Stand For

The Principles That Guide Every Case

At EK Lawyers & Associates, our values are not wall decorations; they are the standards by which we measure every decision, every strategy, and every interaction with our clients.

Results-Driven Advocacy

We are not in the business of going through the motions. Every matter receives a targeted strategy prepared to achieve the best possible outcome, whether in court, at a tribunal, or across a negotiating table.

Access to Justice

Quality legal representation should not be a privilege of the wealthy. Our fixed-fee structure, free initial consultations, and Legal Aid panel membership reflect our commitment to making professional legal services genuinely accessible.

Transparent Communication

Legal jargon should never leave a client confused about their own case. We communicate clearly, keep you informed at every stage, and ensure you fully understand your options before any decision is made.

Integrity Without Compromise

Everything we do is underpinned by the highest professional and ethical standards. As a member of the Law Society of NSW and an officer of the Supreme Court, our obligations to integrity are absolute, and we embrace them fully.

Cultural Sensitivity

Greater Sydney is one of the most diverse communities on earth. We serve clients from all backgrounds and speak both English and Twi, ensuring that language and culture are never barriers to receiving expert legal support.

Availability When It Matters

Legal emergencies do not operate on a 9-to-5 schedule. We offer after-hours and weekend consultations because we understand that when you need a lawyer, you need one now, not next Tuesday morning.
